How it works?

Participating in Steelhammer Auction is simple. You have to (register) with all your company and private details, you will get your username and password as chosen and you are able to bid in live auctions. This is free of charges for companies.

Bidding is based on inspection report as seen in the auction. It is not allowed to examine items in advance at seller´s premises, unless allowed and mentioned in auction details.

Auction time for every item is 10 minutes, exact time of the auction is mentioned in auction specifications. If there are bids during last two minutes of bidding time, it will add another 2 minutes for bidding time. This as long as there are no more bids. All items are open for examination in the web certain period before the auction. Mostly this period is within 2-4 weeks before the auction. We are trying to avoid with this system, the unnecessary and time-consuming waiting for certain auctions which may last for days or weeks. Auction goes quickly and you can plan your day schedule efficiently, no need to sit whole day in internet for single item.

Every auction has start price and UNLESS OTHERWISE MENTIONED IN THE AUCTION, this is also the minimum price for the item. This means simply that if start price is for example 5.000 Euros and there will be just one bid for this amount, this bidder will win the item. So we normally do not have any reserve prices, what you see is what you pay, no unnecessary price discussions after the auction.

You are able to bid with minimum increment or more, bidding amounts are visible during the auction. Minimum increment is based on the start price of the item. 

Some of the auctions may have different bidding conditions (for example real estate auctions), these conditions are always mentioned separately in the auction specifications.

All items in the auction are sold with 0% VAT. If buyer and seller are from same EU- state, VAT will be added to the final invoice. When buyer has valid EU VAT-number, no VAT will be charged, unless in the form of guarantee during the transport of the item.

Whenever you make the highest bid and become winner of the auction, you will automatically get proforma invoice by e-mail. You have to choose the (transport) method, pay the necessary amount per bank wire and have goods delivered to you, by us or by your own means. Only difference between amounts to be paid, is the VAT which is depending of the transport method and transporter. Please notify also that the last moment to present a complain of the item is before it will be loaded and taken to transport.

Please notify that you are able to register free only as registered company. Steelhammer has also all rights to control your company details and finances through international sources and Steelhammer has full right to demand a deposit before you are able to bid in auctions.

When you are registering as private person, you need to deposit the amount of 1.000 Euros in the account of Steelhammer before you are able to bid. This amount will be refunded after auction if you do not win any items or you can leave it to Steelhammer account as guarantee for future auctions.
